A Q&A Video + Making A Pie
/I asked folks on Instagram to submit questions you had for me, and today’s the day I answer them!
I had a deadline for making a pie the day that I wanted to film, so I baked a lemon meringue treat while answering your Qs. The vid is 20 minutes, so maybe watch it on your lunch break? Or maybe while eating a pie?
All of the questions I answer in the video:
Do you plan on living in San Diego forever?
Who are your favorite artists (past or present)?
How long have you and Ross been together? How did you meet?
What does your husband do?
Does Ross working away a lot work well for you? I require a lot of alone time so sometimes I’m jealous!
What’s your favorite weeknight dinner at home
Can we be friends? Would you ever meet up with a reader?
Do you see children in your future?
Being on your own a lot, what are your eating habits? Cook or eat out?
Can I see a wedding photo? How did you approach the event?
Did you go to college? If so, what did you major in? You’re knowledgeable about so much!
Do you dye your hair or is naturally that perfect color?
How old are you?
You doin’ okay? Listened to your recent playlists and so many of the songs are about loss
What’s your favorite movie/tv show for a rainy day?
Do you ever want to keep the adorable pups you foster?
What do you look for in a friend?
Are you going to live in a city forever?
Where would you move to if you had to?
What’s your sign? And what’s your Myers Briggs?
How tall are you?
Do you curse?
Are you an architect? Or an interior designer?
Is blogging your full-time job? If not, what kind of job do you have? You are so creative!
What did you do before blogging?
Are you interested in buying another home someday, either as a rental or a future home?
My entire home needs updates and renovations from windows to flooring to paint.. where to start?
How do you budget for your home projects?
From an environmental standpoint - porch lights on all night or not?
Q&A Video:
Be sure to read my last Q&A post, too! That post has answers to questions not asked for the video, so there’s more to learn. It’s also a good place to learn more about me if you aren’t able to watch the video right now.
I wanted to make a point of answering all of the questions, but I realized I ran out of time for a couple, so here are a few bonus answers:
Do you do other art projects that aren’t home improvement related?
My house is currently my biggest art project. Does the mural count as art? The house and making videos/designs/renderings/etc. for the blog has taken a good deal of my creative capacity lately, so I don’t do too much. When I worked at the art museums, I used to make a bunch of youth art project samples and developed visual art lesson plans. That was fun! I also fell out of the habit of painting holiday ornaments of significant architecture of each year. I need to get back into that habit!
What’s your favorite part about blogging?
Hands down the best part is connecting with people. I’m an introvert and find many reasons not to go out and meet new people, but I do love chatting with you all from the comfort of my own home. I’ve also become really good friends with fellow bloggers. It’s incredible how connected I’ve become with people that share like interests - and similar senses of humor.
What would you do if you weren’t a blogger?
As a kid, my dream job was being a truck driver. I yearned to have the independence to be able to drive and I knew long-haul trucking would give me ample time to listen to Backstreet Boys. I’ve since moved on past that career goal. If I had to do a full career move and the world was my oyster, I’d probably go into environmental politics of some sort and fight the fight for disadvantaged communities that are environmentally wronged by greedy corporations. Kinda like a modern day Erin Brockovich.
oh, and here’s the recipe for my favorite lemon meringue pie.
Do you have any more questions for me? Leave them in the comments of this post - I’m an open book!
