Weekly Roundup
/This bathroom from @themisfithouse is exceptional in every way. And guess what. I spy something in there that’s the exact same product I have installed in my kitchen. You haven’t seen it yet, but you’re welcome to guess what it is.
I really want to get my hands on the new art book, Black Futures. (I’ve linked it to Amazon so you can read all the reviews and look inside, but I encourage you to shop a small book store.)
I’ve been diversifying my Instagram feed and encourage you to follow a few doctors sharing great resources about COVID-19. @kinggutterbaby is an entertaining infectious disease researcher that debunks myths and turns lengthy papers into digestible information. @doctor.darien is an emergency physician that’s sharing COVID news as it comes out - I particularly liked his discussion of vaccine trust in Black communities. Lastly, @jessicamalatyrivery is an infectious disease epidemiologist sharing facts and figures about the virus and vaccines.
I really enjoyed this video tour of Rainn Wilson’s eclectic and art-filled home.
The photo is cool, but the caption is what’s important.
Did you see @wildfredhouse rescue a very broken vintage couch and completely restore it? You should.
This video about a palliative care doctor on finding a “good death” for children was moving and a valuable look at a taboo world. It’s triggering, so you know if it’s something you can watch or not. But I do recommend seeing humanity in something so rarely spoken about.
Whitewashed Hope. There’s a lot of talk about sustainable farming, but this series of slides shares the importance of going deeper into indigenous practices to find a better solution to our climate crisis. It also has shares alternative perspectives for thinking about our relationship with nature.
