Weekly Roundup
/Has it really only been a week since last Friday? It feels like ages. Time feels like it’s going so slowly as we take the coronavirus crisis day by day.
Lauren has been renovating her scullery in her cute craftsman for a while now and I’ve loved following along as she hand-painted the floors, installed a secret broom closet, and DIYed the most charming details. Check out her Instagram here, read about the scullery makeover here, and admire her other design projects here.
If you, like me, are feeling helpless during the coronavirus crisis, be sure to check out my list of 18 things you can do to help others during this time. The recommendations range from a 5-minute task you do at home, to organizations seeking donations, to free ways you can help medical professionals.
During a kitchen renovation, there are a lot of things to miss out on. Baking bread is one of those things. My bud Cathy encouraged me to start making sourdough about a year ago and I’ve been hooked. She shared her favorite recipe and tips for bread making - she’s one to listen to! I’ll resume the bread adventures once our kitchen is re-installed, but until then, we’re living in a temporary kitchenette which is doing just fine, minus the fresh bread. On the renovation note, here’s an update on framing progress, if you missed that.
While many of us are sheltered in place at home, we’re getting the itch to do home projects, tidy, clean, or craft. If you’re craving some reorganization, can I interest you in my tidy and declutter checklist? If you’re looking for just the right tool or supply for the home renovation project, check out my Amazon Storefront where you can order my favorite materials, tools, and product straight to your door. If you’re itching to do a craft, I recommend buying a kit on Etsy so you can learn a new technique. I’m eyeing this punch needle kit. The technique is so cool! Oh, and here are some other fun goodies for tinkering.
I know it’s starting to warm up, but these Everlane cashmere sweaters are 25% off now through Sunday!
I’ve always wanted to turn my backyard into an urban farm but I’m really regretting I didn’t do it sooner. With our need to stay home, we’re so aware of how much we could benefit from a food-producing garden right now. I’m hopeful others will join in and plant victory gardens, too! This urban homesteading book is in my shopping cart now. Does anyone else have other book recommendations? Deanna is a great resource, too!
We’ve all been following Daniel’s entryway makeover on Instagram and oh my word has his hard work paid off! Check out the transformation!
Happy Friday! Or, well, whatever day you want to call it. Every day feels like Wednesday right now.
