Weekly Roundup
/I’m smitten with the mirrors in Marlo’s bathroom!
I shared a video tour of my front yard a month or so ago on Instagram and I realize now that I didn’t share it with you blog folks! Sorry about that! Or, did I already share it? I can’t remember. Well, if you missed it, I uploaded it to YouTube here for you to admire the springtime low-water foliage. And if you want to know more about the garden, click here to learn all about the plants and the landscaping makeover.
One of my favorite podcasts, Ologies, takes a look at a specific area of study in each episode. It’s funny, it’s educational, it’s a good time. I just listened to the Dendrology (trees) episode. I just love trees, people! And I think you will too, especially after you tune in. Listen with Stitcher, iTunes, Spotify, or Overcast.
Have you watched the docuseries Lennox Hill? Ross and I binged it a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the raw look into a hospital.
Ross and I donated blood this week. I had made a goal in college to donate as often as possible, and then, simply didn’t. I regret not giving more, but it’s better late than never. The process was super simple, and I got free cookies at the end! Consider giving if you can, especially if your region is experiencing a blood shortage.
Billionaires shouldn’t exist. (be sure to tap to read all the slides) Also, this wealth shown to scale visualization.
I’ve taken a break from talking about the kitchen renovation, but I’ll be sure to get back to it soon! In the meantime, you can revisit each of the posts (and videos) from the very beginning of the renovation here.
I’ve never heard of pickled watermelon rinds! Have you? I’ve just been composting those suckers, so now I want to pickle them instead. There are so many variations in recipes from spicy to sweet, which do you recommend?
I’m not a shorts person - like, I haven’t owned shorts since high school. But I found these that I really like. They have a high rise and a 4” inseam so they don’t feel like short shorts (hello coverage and no chaffing!) but they’re still cute and flattering. Am I a shorts fan now?!
This episode of the Daily covers people’s trust of vaccines. It’s a haunting look at the future of a post-COVID-19 world.
Here is where you’ll find me this weekend.
