Weekly Roundup
/We took our first out of town trip in three years! We traveled by car and only went a few hours away for just a weekend, but it was nice to dip our toes into travel with a little one. But I can certainly say it’s good to be back and we’re grateful for the comforts of home. Above we’re pictured at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden (highly recommend!) and our outfit details are here.
A photographer Photoshopped himself into old photos of his younger self and they’re so beautiful.
In my efforts to add more color to my home, I considered getting these bath towels but ultimately pulled back and got these. I also got another Turkish hand towel for the guest bathroom - we use it primarily for cleaning our glasses. They’re all from the same Etsy seller.
A house full of color and stripes!

Do you have partial overlay cabinet doors but want inset and are up for a DIY? Here you go.
When we had our backyard designed, we asked for a playhouse but didn’t ever build it. I’ve been toying with different options and I think I’ll try out new, simple, creative play structure ideas each year until Margot tells us which kind of playhouse she wants us to invest in. This year, I installed this (not for climbing!), a couple packets of sweet peas, an outdoor rug, and when it gets warm we’ll add a kiddie pool, sandbox, and toys! I can’t wait for it to come together as things warm up - stay tuned.
I’m hoping that this is what we ultimately install in our backyard.
Grandmillenial kitchens - yes please.
Ross and I upgraded our 7:30pm in-bed Jeopardy viewing to include one of these and I can say that the routine is perfect. Who knew your mid-30s was so luxurious?
Elise’s series of looking through home design books is one of my favorite things on Instagram. Dare I say that my favorite designs are from books published in the 1990s??
I just placed yet another order of café curtains, this time for the primary bathroom. We have them in the kitchen, the dining room, and the office and they’re becoming the simplest yet most creative window/door covering option out there. If only I could decide on a fabric.
It’s been over a decade - Party Down is back tonight!
The tunes I’ve been enjoying this past month:
