Meet Margot!

We have a baby!

Our little Margot Goldman is here and we’re so so smitten! She weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz, 21” long, with a head full of hair and oodles of squishiness.

Above is a photo of her partying hard at her 0th birthday party when she was a mere 16 hours old. I really wanted to celebrate her zeroth birthday (is that even a thing?) so I got a 0 candle and had a friend on standby to bake my favorite chocolate cake for our family of three to enjoy the very day she arrived. Beyond the cake, I didn’t plan out her photoshoot so we used my hospital bedsheet as a backdrop. But who’s looking at the sheet wrinkles when you have that squishy face to admire?

Margot was born at 3:32 am after two days of labor, three hours of pushing, and an ultimate cesarean section. Her birth was a rollercoaster and didn’t go quite as hoped. Once we fully process it, maybe I’ll write her full birth story on the blog.

In the meantime, we’re feeling all of the emotional highs and lows, adapting to a newborn roommate, and savoring every moment with her. I’ve only been writing this post for five minutes but I already miss her so I’m going to sign off to go stare at her while she sleeps.
